Colonyhouse in use: Sherwood High School Students

On April 12th &13th, 2008, nine Sherwood High School students and four teachers spent two days at Colonyhouse. This marked the fifth year Sherwood High School teachers have taken taking the best writing students to the beach in order to concentrate on all aspects of writing.

The students and teachers held two writing seminars, followed by an hour of silent writing. Then it was off to the beach to enjoy the unseasonably, warm weather. After dinner, the group held an open mike session, where both students and teachers read from their work. Afterwards, they played games well into the night.

Oregon Writers Colony is pleased to have Colonyhouse available to promote writing to young writers.  This is what Colonyhouse and Oregon Writers Colony is all about.
