Shannon Wheeler February 24-26 (comics) Shannon Wheeler is the Eisner Award–winning creator of Too Much Coffee Man, who has appeared internationally in newspapers, magazines, comic books and opera houses. He has contributed to a variety of publications that include The Onion newspaper and The New Yorker magazine. Wheeler currently lives in Portland, OR with his cats, chickens, bees, girlfriend and children. He publishes a comic every day at tmcm.com. |

Heather Sharfeddin April 27-29 (novels, short stories) Heather Sharfeddin is the author of four novels set in the modern rural West. Her debut novel, Blackbelly, received the Erick Hoffer Book Award and the San Francisco Book Festival Award. Her third novel, Windless Summer, received the New York Book Festival Award. Her stories are acclaimed by the Chicago Tribune, San Diego Times, Washington Post, Boston Tribune, Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly, among many others. Her articles and poetry are published in numerous magazines and anthologies. She holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Art. |

Dave Jarecki September 14-September 16 Dave Jarecki (poetry) Dave Jarecki owns Breakerboy Communications, a writing firm that focuses on helping individuals, businesses and community organizations write and communicate their stories. In addition, Jarecki facilitates youth and adult writing workshops throughout the Greater Portland area, and is an adjunct fellow at the Attic Institute. His work has appeared in a number of online and print publications, including Reed Magazine, Cloudbank Literary Magazine, Oregon Poetic Voices and Rattle (forthcoming/summer 2012). He lives in Portland with his wife, Courtney, the couple's daughter, Lazadae, two hounds and three chickens. |

Alexis Smith (fiction) November 9-11 Alexis Smith (fiction) Alexis Margaret Smith grew up in Soldotna, Alaska and Seattle, Washington. She attended Mount Holyoke College, Portland State University, and Goddard College, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing. Her writing has appeared in Tarpaulin Sky and on Powells.com. Glaciers (Tin House Books, January 2012) is her first novel. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her son, two cats, and their beloved view of the St. John’s bridge. |
