OWC Members, Family, and Friends You are invited to the 6th Annual Colonyhouse Founders' Day Celebration at Colonyhouse in Rockaway Beach on August 17, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Arrive any time after 10. Enjoy coffee, tea, and light snacks. Please RSVP before August 15th. Schedule 11:00 a.m. - Sharon Wood Wortman emcees the Open Mic. Last year Sharon read her autobiography in 25 lines, and then challenged members to bring their own autobiography in 25 lines, or less, to this year's celebration. Of course, members may read whatever they wish, as long as the poems/memoir/fiction/nonfiction selections are kept to no more than five minutes. Readers sign up in advance. 12:15-1:30 - Deli lunch served, with Bob Zimmer's delicious peach cobbler for dessert. (Donation for lunch and dessert: $10). Please RSVP so we have enough food 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Special Readings Paul Gerhards, Vice President of the Northwest Association of Book Publishers, reads from his book Mapping the Dharma: A Concise Guide to the Middle Way of the Buddha. Paul lives in Vancouver WA Karen Keltz, cofounder of Happy House Productions, reads her two prize-winning poems "Silence," and "Lessons." Karen lives in Tillamook Linda Leslie, OWC's president for the past 3 years, turns over the gavel to newly elected president, Judy O’Neill. More Open Mic. Marlene Howard makes a short presentation honoring long-time members who have donated so much to OWC through the years 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. Wrap-up and Capital Campaign update.
