Writers Weeks and Writers Weekends at Colonyhouse give you a chance to take a writing retreat in company with fellow writers. These special dates are announced in the weekly eBlasts and quarterly member newsletter, Colonygram. Usually one week and one weekend each month are set aside as Writers Weeks or Weekends. Other dates at our regular rates may be arranged by contacting Marlene Howard. (see below)
As a member of Oregon Writers Colony, you’re eligible to take part in these scheduled Writers Weeks or Weekends.
The only rules are silence on a schedule agreed to by the occupants and respect for others in use of the shared spaces.
Colonyhouse has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each participant has a private room and access to shared kitchen, living room, and bathrooms.
Writers Weeks begin on Sunday at 4 p.m. and end at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon. The cost is $125 per person.
Writers Weekends begin Friday at 4 p.m. and end Sunday at 2 p.m. Cost is $100 per person.

To participate in a Writers Week or Weekend, contact Marlene Howard by email or through postal mail (P.O. Box 15200, Portland, OR 97293-5200).
She will provide a reservation form, which you return to OWC with a $50 deposit.
(Telephone reservations are not accepted.)
Send full payment to OWC at least 21 days before the reserved dates. On receipt of the balance, the house key will be sent to you by mail with instructions for opening and closing the house.
The $50 deposit is nonrefundable, but may be transferred if the cancellation is received 21 days before the reserved date. OWC does not accept Paypal payments for house use. Send checks or money orders only.
