Give-A-Gift-Twice Campaign at Stumptown Lit Book Fair, featuring David Schneider

David SchneiderDavid Schneider will sponsor a Give-A-Gift-Twice Campaign at Stumptown Lit Book Fair, Saturday, December 7, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. Stumptown Lit Book Fair happens at TaborSpace, 5441 SE Belmont, Portland, OR 97215.

In his Give-a-Gift-Twice campaign, and in support of the UPS Store Toys For Tots Literacy Program, for anyone who purchases DJ’s novel at the Stumptown Lit Book Fair on Dec. 7, DJ Schneider will donate a novel to Toys For Tots in their name.

Short Stories: Tiny Windows Into Other Worlds, a writing workshop, featuring Elizabeth Beechwood

Elizabeth Beechwood will lead a writing workshop titled Short Stories: Tiny Windows Into Other Worlds. The workshop happens Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Forest Grove Public Library, 2114 Pacific Ave., Forest Grove, OR 97116.

This is a free workshop! What does it take to write a short story? And what do you do with it when you’re done? We’ll talk about both of those questions, as well as read three short stories and use them for inspiration. There will be writing exercises, so bring your writing implement of choice and join me for a fun workshop! Please register online to save your spot.

Local Writer Reading, featuring Paul Haber

Paul HaberPaul Haber will be at Local Writer Reading, September 5, 2019, at 7 p.m. The reading happens at Another Read Through, 3932 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland.

The reading marks the official launch of the second edition of Chronicles of A Blessed Man, the story of near-death, discoveries and life changes that result. In the book, a former Green Beret and law enforcement officer suddenly collapses. The book details the pain, recovery, and the people who helped the changes happen.

A slightly silly, sort of theatrical, pretty dang fun collision of a reading and a play, the launch party for Cindy Brown’s new book KILLALOT will feature local actors, bad jokes, and free cake. KILLALOT is the sixth book in the Agatha -nominated Ivy Meadows series of madcap mysteries set in the off, off, OFF Broadway world of theatre.

Cindy BrownCindy Brown is hosting a Launch Party for her newest novel, Phantom of Oz. The event happens at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018, at O’Connors Vault, 3847 SW Canby St., Portland.

Join author Cindy Brown and The Willamette Radio Workshop for a book launch and live radio reading of The Phantom of Oz, the fifth in Brown’s Agatha-nominated series of madcap mysteries set in the off, off, off Broadway world of theater. This isn’t your typical author reading, but a performance by the award-winning Willamette Radio Workshop with some of Portland’s finest actors, complete with spooky sound effects, ghost stories, and a few songs—plus cake and a cash bar. Admission is free!
