Important Notes!

Due to its hilltop elevation, occupants must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit the house, and to climb the two more sets of stairs inside. Thanks to its historic nature, much of its infrastrucutre is grandfathered in. As long-time OWC member John Kallas has noted, “What the original board understood as quaint, rustic, and practical about the house (practical in the sense that it served its minimal purpose) at the time of purchase, are now outside of building standards.” Please take the house’s limitations into consideration before sending an application.

The fireplace is out of service for now. Please do not use the fireplace. The house is kept cozy by an electric furnace, controlled by a wall thermostat, found on the main floor. We are in the midst of a major repair, rehabilitation, and replacement infrastructure campaign with many upgrades recently completed and others planned inside and outside the house.
