Founders Day 2026

The OWC Board Members invite all past, current, and prospective members to come out to Rockaway Beach to join us for our annual open house celebrating Oregon Writers Colony’s founders at our beloved beach retreat, the Colonyhouse. We have a day of networking, readings, community, and music planned to entertain you! Come meet board members, volunteers, and fellow writers, all interested in sharing their creativity and passion for writing! If it is your first time visiting Colonyhouse, you may also take a tour of the historic Steiner cabin we love so much, which was built in 1936 and is celebrating its 90th birthday this year!

Please plan to bring your own lunch to the event. We will provide sides, cake, and beverages. Please also bring to share some of your writing in a supportive environment!
