Return to Spirit Lake: Life and Landscape at Mount St. Helens, by Christine Colasurdo

August 11, 2017 By Jan

Return to Spirit LakeChristine Colasurdo is the author of a new book, Return to Spirit Lake: Life and Landscape at Mount St. Helens, a nature/memoir published by Radiolarian Press.

In Return to Spirit Lake, author Christine Colasurdo revisits the landscape of her childhood — Mount St. Helens’ blast zone — to piece together how the May 1980 eruption affected the places she loved, including the lodge where she worked during the summer of 1979 and her family’s cabin. Selected as a “Washington Reads” book in 2005, Return to Spirit Lake has been recommended as “mandatory reading” by The Oregonian for anyone interested in the volcano.
